Attorney Erik Salur advises the clients of PwC Legal mostly in corporate law and M&A. Erik has a lot of experience in advising clients in the fields of banking and finance law, primarily on large-scale cross-border financing transactions. For example, he participated in advising a major regional financial institution that financed the companies of the Food Union Group for a total value of 145 million euros.
Erik has advised creditors, credit intermediaries, and other market players of the financial sector in preparing their applications for authorizations, including help on compiling the required internal rules. Erik has also advised the market players of the financial sector on solving compliance issues and other matters that arise in their daily economic activities and on acquisitions of significant holdings, including representation of clients in the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority.
In addition to that, Erik has been a member of the project teams in several M&A transactions, such as the takeover of a pan-Baltic media group in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and the takeover of the largest insurance broker in the Baltic States. Furthermore, Erik has advised clients on various restructuring issues, regulating the relations between shareholders and developing reward packages for employees.
Erik has also participated in the legislative process by providing his input for changing the capital markets’ regulation together with professional associations. Erik has contributed to compiling an overview of the crowdfunding regulations in Europe, North America and Israel.
Prior to joining the team of PwC Legal Erik has worked for one of the most highly recognized law firms of the Baltic States and for Eesti Energia AS.
